Plastic production has increased from 15 million tonnes in the sixties to 380 million tonnes in 2020 and is expected to triple by 2050.
We all have a responsibility to clean up the environment from the plastic-mess the markets have created.
Recycling is one important part of the process, needed to clean up the amounts of plastic polluting our planet, while the final solution can only be:
“NO PLASTIC” whenever possible.
For all other plastic materials it will need monitored, closed circular systems. The future use of plastics has to reflect its price on the environment through a Plastic-Tax (similar to the CO2 Tax).
This will create markets, where the manufacturing of products, starting from “design for recycling” to the return and reuse of materials will be more profitable than the waste of valuable resources.
